01. Cleaning services 

Starting a cleaning service is actually a great idea, especially if you target the local residential areas. People are becoming busier and busier. They don’t have enough time to get on with good cleaning in and out of their houses even if they had 72 hours per a day. So this is a great opportunity. Also it has been trending this year. 

02. Online tutoring 

This has been a trending idea since the COVID pandemic season. Plus it’s Sri Lanka. In Sri Lanka education is one of the most competitive business fields of all. Teachers and students all of them are in a huge competition. So if you can teach an exam related subject, here’s a great opportunity for you. Conducting your class online is an added advantage actually. Because you can reach out to the whole country at the same time. Also the cost is pretty low compared to the profit.

A decade ago the idea of elderly care homes was a very dangerous subject here in Sri Lanka. But now it’s becoming more normalized. A bit friendly even. Another easy, effortless way to make some money. To be honest this is a great side hustle idea. Yet I don’t think this is a business idea. But you can improvise this idea into a million dollar business idea. For instance let’s say you could start an online thrift store. You buy used clothes and you sell them back online. 

08. Homemade food 

Organic chemical free food is an increasing trend in Sri Lanka.  If you are good at cooking this is going to be a great and enjoyable business idea for you. Breakfast,lunch, dinner, desserts, snacks, there are so so many options for you to go with. You can choose one for the starters then eventually start all of these options. 

09. Digital marketing / SEO firms 

Digital marketing is a hot trend. So are the SEO firms as digital marketing is becoming an essential part of marketing campaigns nowadays. Digital marketing and SEO stuff aren’t that theoretical or hard. Pretty much anyone can learn these subjects on their own. The earlier you start the business the better. Start out with another new business. Do experiments and think outside the business. You will be owning a successful digital marketing firm in no time. 

10. Medical courier services 

This is also a very fresh idea. Most of the elderly people don’t like asking for help. A bit stubborn. Yet most of them need help when it comes to buying their medications and prescriptions and everything. They ask for help only because they don’t have any other choice. So you can be that other choice. Starting a medical courier service is a great idea because there is a gap for those kinds of services. You can drive yourself or you can hire a driver. You can start small locally then build from there.
